Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

9 June 2002

Now married for 24 hours, we continued our quiet day before the honeymoon proper with a visit to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway.

Gotherington Halt is a request stop for walkers and hikers who wish to explore the surrounding hills. The former station building is privately owned and has been restored to its former glory by the present owner. He also built the Ian Allan Heritage Award winning Gotherington West.

Winchcombe is a very attractive station, but is not the original - the station building was transported stone by stone from Monmouth (Troy) in Wales and rebuilt on site by the railway's volunteers.
