On what was officially Ladies Quarter Finals Day, our first match on Number One
Court was a fourth round match between Jennifer Capriati and Nadia Petrova

The match was won by Capriati, 6-4 6-4

Next was a quarter-final match between Karolina Sprem (left) and Lindsay
Davenport

The match was more even than Davenport's eventual 6-2 6-2 win would suggest.

Then it was time to change to a larger net for the doubles match

Martina Navratilova and Leander Paes were seeking to repeat last year's victory
in the Mixed Doubles, playing Sebastian Prieto and Emmanuelle Gagliardi. That
win would take Martina ahead of Billy Jean King in terms of the number of
Wimbledon titles won, currently at 19.

Sadly, they were knocked out on Friday in the 3rd round, and Martina declared
that this was her last visit as a player to Wimbledon.
