Isle of Wight Coast PathThe Isle of Wight Coast Path runs for about 116 km around the coastline of the island, albeit with two significant inland diversions on the northern side, caused by Queen Victoria's Osbourne House estate and her reluctance to get too close to the great unwashed, and the Newton River and Clamerkin Lake rivers and neighbouring army training ground. The concept of walking right round an island has a definite attraction to it, and here is an island which is both substantial enough to make it a challenge but small enough to make it easily manageable.
