Grand Union Canal Walk:
Dogs near Rickmansworth

8 March 2008

From Springwell Lock on the Grand Union Canal, we walked northeast and here have reached Lock 82, Stocker's Lock

We continue to Rickmansworth and reach Batchworth Locks. There are two locks here, raising the canal different amounts - that on the left provides a link into a short navigable length of the River Chess, where there is some mooring. The lock on the right is on the main line of the canal. A breasted-up pair is just leaving the lock as Henry and Ellie scamper around

From Batchworth Lock we took a route around Batchworth Lake and Bury Lake, and here pause briefly by the latter before we regain the towpath by Sotcker's Lock and return to Springwell Lock.
