Dolomites Holiday:
Cortina D'Ampezzo

3-10 July 2011

After the success of their walking holiday to Interlaken in Switzerland in 2009, Stephen and his father this year had a week in the Dolomites in northern Italy. We stayed in the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

From the Rifugio Faloria, at around 2120m, looking down on Cortina around 900 metres below.

A close-up from the same spot shows Cortina in more detail. Running through the centre can be seen the old railway line and accompanying station; our hotel was close to the church whose large tower can be seen.

The tall church tower, with its Westminster chimes and impressively large and deep bells.
