Whoap and Lank Rigg

30 December 2014

A pleasant winter's day provided an opportunity to pick up another couple of Wainwright summits from the north-west of the district, and an isolated geocache.

George and Lottie spy out of the route. Ahead is Lank Rigg, but our route will curve round to the left and onto Whoap (far left of picture) before crossing the col onto Lank Rigg.

And in the other direction to the higher fells beyond Ennerdale Water with Grasmoor behind them.

Not the most thrilling of scenery underfoot but good weather and good distant views made it a pleasant walk.

Total distance 9.6 km and 500 metres of ascent in 3 hours 23 mins (including the geocaching diversion)
