You have a great website! I found you via Google when researching for a canal/ringing holiday we are planning for next summer, starting near Birmingham. I see you had one a few years ago and I wonder if I could get a look at your itinerary? Plenty of ringers have told me that canals and ringing outings don't go together (due to the problem of getting through locks etc on schedule) so if you have managed it I would appreciate your advice.

Hi Stephen and Lucy,

Please excuse this approach but I am hoping that you may be able to assist a group I am helping in connection with the paths at Moor Park and in particular, Bedford Road from Batchworth Lane to Footpath 51 which is part of the London Loop. I found your details as someone who had walked this section.

I am helping the small business that trade from the shops and offices at Moor Park (the Main Avenue Traders Association Ltd – MATA). For some time the owners of the Estate have made it difficult for members of the public to have access and a particular issue relates to Bedford Road. There is a barrier across the road. The County Council accept that there is a public right of way from Batchworth Lane to Moor Park but insist it is only 4’ in width and runs on the eastern verge hard against the property boundaries.

MATA believe that the route the public actually walk is on the road surface as the verge has several crossovers, and high kerbs and hedges and trees interfere with someone trying to walk on that part of the verge. We need to gain evidence of where people have walked in order to support the argument that the road should be available for walkers and that the barrier placed across it is an obstruction.

If you have any recollection of this section and are able to assist could you please email me at cw@etlandnet.co.uk and I will get back to you with some more specific questions.

Many thanks for taking the time to consider this and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Coralie

Hi Stephen and Lucy,

I really enjoyed your photos of the Thames Path - Thames Head to Cricklade walk. The source of the Thames is something that I've always been interested in! Great work.

Thanks and best, Chris.
