I would love to use your image of the tree family in Gatton Park? We are producing a brochure for a New Homes Developer and this image would look great.

Enjoyed your pics and comments on the coast path. Thanks. You had all possible weather - apart from snow! Some lovely shots of sea mist.

The 'shaped' boulders in Trevaunance are the remains of St Agnes harbour - the granite blocks now have slightly rounded edges from a century of being bashed about. Granite being used today for steps, paving, etc is often foreign as it's cheaper than Cornish .. so there's Portuguese granite on either side of Sally's Bottom, for example. And Chinese granite at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth! Grrrrrrrrrr.

Send me an email, if you've time, please.

Enjoyed your photo guides of the LOOP, which you've documented very helpfully. The photos of Henry are truly adorable. I intend to walk parts of the LOOP myself, when walking companion(s) are ready to devote the odd half-day to make it happen

Excellent photo collection. Particularly enjoyed the London Loop photos, which brought back a few memories, as I walked it with a friend a couple of years ago. I walked from Kingston through Bushy Park today, and the loop is now well sign posted.
I currently have about 20 miles left of the Greensand Way to complete from Pluckley to Ham Street, which will be completed in 2 stages - finishing on Haloween this year

Hi i love the walbury hill photos, my wife and I go to the hill alot but we can't find the stone marker that you guys are leaning against... can u tell us how you got there? is it down the gravel track at all?
23 July 2010 - andover, hampshire

Webmaster comments   Glad you liked the photos.

After eight years I can't particularly remember whether the track was gravel, but the trig point is down a track which leads approximately SSW away from the public byway at roughly the highpoint of the byway. You can see the track and trigpoint here with the triangular symbol:

http://tinyurl.com/38h6bu7

The Trigpointing website shows that it was there on 15 July: http://www.trigpointinguk.com/trigs/trig-details.php?t=302

I have been looking at your site and admiring your photos for years, in particular, admiring your lovely dogs (I have two cavaliers of my own). I was terribly sad to read that Henry had passed away; I am so very sorry for you loss and hope that Ellie and George are adjusting well. Henry appeared to have had a wonderful life. Best of luck.

I retired to Thailand three years ago. Seeing some of your pictures this morning has made me realise that it has little to offer in comparison with the beauty of the English countryside, illustrated so well in your photography.

I’m thankful that the beauty of the landscape that you have in Britain is properly preserved and recognised for its importance. Here most things that might have had any beauty in the past have long since been destroyed and that that is attractive, usually proves to be fake. Sadly Thailand is mostly about face-value and I often wish I hadn’t left England.

But at least I can now view your excellent pictures – the next best thing. Many thanks for your hard work compiling them.

Hi Stephen and Lucy - I love looking at your pictures. I am putting together a series of postcards to sell in support of a local charity in Islington. One of the packs is about the New River and I'm hoping you might let me use a few photos that you took on your New River walk. I can send you further details if you let me have your contact details. Many thanks and I hope to hear back.

Hi you two. Loved the pictures of the river and bridge in Paphos forest. My partner lynne and I were in Cyprus in 2008/09 and loved the forest. Unfortunatly our pictures of the river were lost so it's good to see it again and bring back some happy memories. All being well back there again next year to visit some dear freinds. Very best wishes

Hi Stephen, Your work is marvelous! Very grateful that you are making your beautiful photos available for others to use. In writing about Emiliania huxleyi, my favorite phytoplankton, I used your white cliffs of the Seven Sisters in East Sussex. Many thanks! http://scaleindependentthought.typepad.com/

Hi. I found your website while trying to discover what the strange tower structures are at the A13 junction with Ferry Lane in Rainham. We finished the London Loop in July 2009. A path is now open along the Thames from Coldharbour Point to Purfleet.. You pass the RSPB centre which is excellent for refreshments, and the Purfleet Heritage centre (open Thursdays and Sundays, I think) - also excellent.
I like your photos of the walk

I love your canal and lakes pics. I would like to use your Gummers How panoramic picture in a write up I have done for a friend about the delightful walk up Gummers How - she has a cottage in Bowness. I took pics with my Nikon D70 and wanted to stich them in Photoshop but the card corrupted and I lost them - very dissapointing! I have a very similar picture taken from Lakeside with believe it or not the same boat in the foreground (on a Fuji 10mpx). Please look at my new website www.waterwaysfromtheair.co.uk and you will see my canals interest too! I'm currently mapping the complete waterways of the uk! Please contact me as I'd love to include some of your pictures!
Keep up the good work - very enjoyable.

I would like to thank you for sharing your wonderful photographs, especially of the Four Counties Ring. We are going in a few weeks time and we hope we shall have a great a time as you seem to have done. I hope the extraordinary tree is still there - I will be looking out for it. Again, really enjoyed taking the tour, almost try before you buy scenario. Kind Regards Chris

Love reading about your travels and enjoyed your account of the South West Coast Path – particularly the St Ives to Penzance section, as myself, partner and dog are heading to this, evidently rugged, westernmost part of the UK for the first time in September.
I expect we will be walking sections of the path and so your photographs certainly gave us a good impression of the area!

Kingston to Hatton Cross London Loop.
In the interest of accuracy, once you go north of the river from Kingston you are no longer in Kingston upon Thames. Bushy Park is in Richmond UponThames and the London Loop stays in Richmond Upon Thames until you cross the Hanwroth Road into Hounslow Borough.
Incidentally, the London Loop signs have now been installed in Crane Park. (earlier this year)

Nice website by the way

Fab website, was really envious looking at Lake District photos as my heart belongs to them, (we have a caravan on west coast).
Found your site whilst googling Dawson Yewbarrow, I'm trying to trace my GG grandad Charles Dawson who according to 1891 census lived at Yewbarrow Lodge!
I really enjoyed the photos as I live in MK and I swear I could even taste the fresh air whilst browsing,
Happy snapping x
